The Kenai River is an optimum spot for anglers seeking trophy-sized rainbow trout. Rainbow trout are known for their bright red-orange, pink and green colors, and black spots. They have an average length of about 18 inches and can weigh 2 to 16 pounds on average. Rainbow trout are found in the Kenai River year-round but are most active during the summer months.
