The Cougar Club Sportsman’s Alliance will host a dinner auction on March 4, 2005, featuring incredible items for fishing and hunting enthusiasts. All proceeds will benefit BYU Athletics; the event will be held in the Provo Marriott Ballroom.

In addition to the auction items, the Cougar Club Sportsman’s Alliance has secured a week this summer (June 25 - July 2) at the Gone Fishin’ Lodge in Soldotna, Alaska, where interested club members can enjoy the Alaskan fishing trip of a lifetime with Heisman Trophy winner and former BYU quarterback Ty Detmer.
The Gone Fishin’ Lodge has set up this exclusive trip for fishing enthusiasts who would love to go to Alaska and fish with Ty Detmer. This incredible package was created exclusively for BYU and will provide the best fishing available in Alaska, with options and amenities that even the renowned Gone Fishin’ Lodge does not typically offer its clientele. Additionally, the Gone Fishin’ Lodge will donate a generous share of the proceeds from all trips sold to BYU Athletics.

The Gone Fishin' Lodge
The Gone Fishin’ Lodge is located 150 miles south of Anchorage on the world famous Kenai River. The package includes 7 nights and 7 days with 5 days of fully guided fishing.

This "Best of Alaska" trip consists of two days fishing for King Salmon (average wt. 30-60 lbs) on the Kenai River, one day of Halibut fishing in the world’s richest Halibut grounds in the Cook Inlet, and not one, but two days of remote Fly-in Fishing (floatplanes) for King Salmon on two of the best fishing rivers in the state. Fly-in fishing is the ultimate experience: you and your guide fly into the Alaskan wilderness and fish a private remote location in a way most fishermen only dream about.

World Class Alaskan Fishing

All rooms at the lodge have their own full, private bath and accommodate 4 people comfortably. Three rooms can accommodate a group of 4-6 people comfortably, if necessary.

The price for this five-star trip is $3,450 per person, based on a party of 4.
Participants must provide their own airfare to Anchorage Alaska, and arrange transportation (usually via a rental car) to the lodge in Soldotna.

You will be staying at the Gone Fishin' Lodge in Soldotna, just 3 hours south of Anchorage (see maps). We are right on the world famous Kenai River where we fish for Trophy King Salmon, Silver Salmon, and Sockeye Salmon.

The Lodge will accommodate 40 guests, with rooms for 2 & 4, or up to 7 per room. The rooms are furnished with modern kitchenettes, microwave ovens, full refrigerators, full bathroom, and a coffee pot. Every room is clean and in excellent condition. Cleaning service is provided daily by a member of our helpful staff.

In our main lodge we have a large fully furnished kitchen, laundry and freezer room, along with gas barbecues, located on the back 2,000 square ft. deck, all for your personal use. Our comfortable recreation room and lobby each have a TV with VCR to view the day's fishing or just relax with a good movie.

After a hard day of fishing feel free to relax in our large game room while shooting a game of pool. Or you may choose to go behind the lodge and fish the Kenai River some more.

Our huge freezer room is in a separate building on our property and is large enough to hold everyone's catches and then some.
